The primary aim of the club is to ensure that the services provided by South Lanarkshire Council are made available to all senior citizens in the community. The emphasis will be on the special services provided for senior citizens but will cover other services as well.
The second aim is to provide senior citizens with the opportunity to :
o Take part in day bus trip outings to places of interest
o Listen to public or special interest speakers. Possible topics such as The Third Age Learning, Social Services, Community Policing, Citizen's Advice. Inheritance Taxation and Long Term Care
o Take part in social events e.g. 10-Pin Bowling, Bingo, Quiz nights , Theatre visits etc.
o Join together to group meals at special times of year: Christmas Meal/Burn's Supper etc
Further events to be arranged.
Note: individuals can be involved in as few or as many events as they chose.
Aim is to stay healthy, be aware of what is available to you and have fun
This club is open to anyone 60+ who reside in Hairmyres, Mossneuk, Gardenhall, Newlandsmuir and Stewartfield
Membership fee is £5, plus £1 contribution for tea/coffee at each session The club meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month with the exception of July/August
